Maisha Z. Johnson is a black queer writer and activist. She frequently writes and blogs about topics such as queer issues, racial justice, feminism and the writing life.

She’s written poetry and led writing workshops for groups such as Community United Against Violence (CUAV).

Her fiction has been published in Transfer Magazine, where it received the Leo Litwak Award for Fiction.

She studied Creative Writing at San Francisco State University, and currently lives, works and writes in San Francisco.
